Thought for today:

Our forefathers determined that America could not be successful without instituting slavery.

Today we farm out less desireable jobs to the lowest bidder in order to be successful.  eg: molding and assembly to Chinese for almost nothing, garments to numerous islands and underdeveloped countries, Computer help desks to India, harvesting and chicken processing to Mexican "illegals" (hmmm, whole families displaced and working in our fields....reminds you of something?), etc.

Have we really changed at all?

Made some comments to others today.  Not much to say:

Send JB your favorite letter.  He seems to enjoy receiving them.  I sent him a "T".  (in case you don't want to double him up).  I find them very useful.  I guess he could use more than one.  Perhaps someone could send him a lower case t.

Here is a country desparate for a holiday:

Macau, today they celebrate "3rd Day of the 1st Month of the Lunar New Year"!!  I looked, apparently the 1st and 2nd days are also holidays.

I wonder what one does to celebrate?  are there cards?  a feast? dancing?

Interestingly, they are kind of a Hong Kong in that the British will soon give up rule of the region to China.

Sri Lanka celebrates independence day today.  Maybe there is something to this independence thing?

I forgot to mention that a really tall guy and I went to see the inauguration in Wash. DC - what a great day!  We very much enjoyed ourselves.  The whole crowd alternatively cheered and booed as senators/etc emerged on the steps of the capitol.  --- except for a small group of what sounded like teenage girls who shrieked every time John Kerry's face appeared on the jumbotron.  Pretty funny, pretty pathetic, LOSER!!

The swearing in and speech were the highlight of our day.  We did enjoy watching the police in riot gear disperse the idiot democrats and communists from the city streets, however.

"W" gave a fantastic speech and then another great one this week at congress on the state of the union.  We are so fortunate to have him as our president.
